These fused glass earrings allude to the "Red Dot Map" which charts a trail of migrant deaths through the Growler Valley, to the west of Ajo. They were made by Tracy Taft in her Sonoran Fused studio in Ajo, Arizona.
In making these earrings, Tracy used an Italian glass made on the Island of Murano. She fused a wire into the glass to avoid using glue and then finish the earrings with a black seed bead. They dangle from a silver ear wire.
The proceeds from your purchase of the earrings will be donated to the Ajo Samaritans so that they may continue putting water in the desert to alleviate suffering and save lives.
