These light blue fused glass earrings with a red dot in the center refer to the "Red Dot Map" which depicts a trail of migrant deaths through the Growler Valley, to the west of Ajo. They were made by Tracy Taft in her Sonoran Fused Studio in Ajo, Arizona.
Tracy uses Italian glass made on the island of Murano. She embeds a wire in the glass to avoid using glue and uses a small seed bead as a finishing touch. They dangle from a silver ear wire.
When you purchase these earrings, the proceeds are donated to the Ajo Samaritans to help them continue their work to alleviate suffering and save the lives of travelers in the desert, irrespective of their immigration status.
